The cleanest village in India, Mawlynnong Village is also known as God's Own Garden and for all the right reasons. In 2003, Mawlynnong was awarded the title of the cleanest Village in Asia by Discover India.
Apart form walking around the village and sightseeing the surroundings, the Cleanest Village provides you the mesmerizing Single Decker Root Bridge created by the villagers naturally combining the aerial roots of the rubber trees.
After a few trek up to the village above the Root Bridge. You will get to see the bamboo canopy from where you can witness the thrilling view of the Bangladesh plains and after few walk in the village you will see the balancing rock.
You can even continue your Journey to the cleanest crystal clear river of Dawki which is 34kms from the village.

Village head Mr. Thomlin said that the villagers have the habit of cleanliness since many generations. Their ancestors have not only taught them the advantages of cleanliness but also the importance of keeping environment clean. The one who maintains cleanliness keeps away the diseases. They use bamboo dustbin which you can easily find out in the every corner of village. As this is Asia's cleanest village then it is obvious to grab some tourists attractions and as tourists come they make some uncleaniness so they take charge in advance at the entry gate of village for visiting.
Dried leaves and flower are collected in a pit and they turned it into manure in two years. Leftover food like rice and vegetables is fed to the pigs outside the village. This is the only village in India where each and every house has a toilet. Whenever a new house is being built in this village then it is mandatory to build the toilet before the house get constructed.
In India it is important to spread awareness about cleanliness. But this is how Asia's cleanest village Mawylynong has brought frame to India, it was unimaginable!
